No more chasing invoices.
No more surprises.
Every booking on Crewboo is protected by escrow. Payment is captured when the booking is confirmed and released when the show is done. Technicians get paid on time, every time.
How Crewboo Pay works
Producer secures payment
When a producer confirms a booking, the agreed rate is charged to their card and held in escrow. Neither party can access the funds until the show is complete.
Technician shows up
The technician completes the job. On the day of the event (or the next business day for multi-day events), the producer confirms completion in the Crewboo dashboard.
Payment is released
Once the show is confirmed complete, payment is released to the technician's linked bank account. Standard payout arrives within 1–2 business days.
Instant payout (optional)
Pro Tech members can request instant same-day payout for a 1% processing fee. Funds arrive within minutes to a supported debit card or bank account.
Powered by
Stripe — the world’s most trusted payment infrastructure.
Crewboo Pay is built on Stripe Connect — the same infrastructure used by Lyft, DoorDash, Shopify, and thousands of global marketplaces. All card data, bank account details, and transaction records are managed directly by Stripe. Crewboo never stores payment credentials.
Frequently asked questions
What is escrow and why does Crewboo use it?
Escrow means the payment is collected upfront and held by a neutral third party (Crewboo, via Stripe) until the service is delivered. It protects technicians from non-payment and producers from paying for shows that get cancelled. Both parties are protected by default on every booking.
What are Crewboo's fees?
Crewboo charges a 3% platform fee on each booking, deducted from the producer's payment. Technicians receive the full agreed rate — we do not charge technicians a separate fee. Instant payout costs an additional 1% of the payout amount.
What if the show is cancelled?
Cancellation policy depends on timing. Cancellations more than 72 hours before the event date qualify for a full refund of the escrowed amount. Cancellations within 72 hours incur a 25% late cancellation fee — 25% is retained, and 75% is refunded to the producer.
What if there's a dispute?
If the producer marks a show as not completed or disputes the technician's work, a 72-hour hold is placed on the payment. Our trust team reviews evidence from both parties and makes a binding decision within 3 business days.
How do technicians connect their bank account?
Technicians link their payout account via Stripe Connect — a secure, industry-standard bank connection used by Lyft, Shopify, and thousands of other platforms. Crewboo never stores bank account details directly.
Are international payouts supported?
Currently, payouts are supported in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Additional countries are being added through Stripe Connect's global expansion program.
What currencies are supported?
All bookings are conducted in USD. International technicians receive payouts in their local currency via Stripe's automatic conversion at the current exchange rate.
Is there a minimum or maximum booking amount?
The minimum booking amount is $50. There is no maximum. Crewboo Pay is designed to handle everything from a single-day local call to a multi-week touring engagement.
